Energy per app

Free

Which apps are using power, in watts, with measured numbers kept apart from estimates.

What it does

  • Reads watts per app from the energy counter macOS keeps for each process.
  • When macOS gives no counter for an app, shows an estimate (chip CPU power shared by CPU time) marked "≈" and "estimate".
  • Shows chip power on the Energy tile, split into CPU, GPU, Neural Engine and memory where the Mac reports them.

What it never does

  • Present an estimate as a measurement, or store one. Receipts use only measured per-app watts.
  • Treat chip watts as battery drain. The "time left" figure uses the battery's own voltage and current.

Honest limits

  • Not every Mac reports every power channel. Hedroom shows what it can read and leaves the rest out.
