Plain words for the names you see in Activity Monitor, refreshed about once a week from a signed list.
What it does
- Explains what a process or app is, whether it is safe to leave alone, and what to do if it misbehaves.
- Ships inside the app, so it works offline. About once a week Hedroom downloads a newer signed copy, and Settings › Check now does it on request.
- Checks the signature and version before using a new copy. If a check fails, it keeps the old one and says nothing.
What it never does
- Send anything about your Mac to get an update. It is a plain download with no cookies or identifiers.
- Use a copy that is not signed by Hedroom.
- Check automatically at critical memory pressure, in Low Power Mode, or with the battery under 20%.

- The library covers the common names. For one it does not know, Hedroom says "Hedroom doesn't know this one yet."
